Because He lives I can face tomorrow

Dressed up in a white bonnet and my prettiest pink dress with all the ruffles and frills, I remember singing this hymn every Easter as a little girl.  Packed with the breadth and depth of the gospel, the hymn Because He Lives is an anthem raised to a God who is not dead, but is alive.  Heralding hope, it trumpets the truth of promised possibility, awakening slumbering souls to arise and live confidently as God’s chosen people, dearly loved and holy. 

So what does it look like to live every day through the lens of an empty grave? 

The world we are presently living in is being pummeled by pain, saturated in selfishness, imprisoned by pride, and locked behind a fortress of fear. How can we focus our blurred belief on a perfect and secure eternity while living in this dark reality, under an umbrella of uncertainty?

BECAUSE JESUS’ RESURRECTION MADE FOREVER POSSIBLE THE IMPOSSIBLE. 

When Christ arose from the grave, FEAR fled.

When Christ arose from the grave, VICTORY crushed Satan’s head.

When Christ arose from the grave,  DEATH lost its sting.

When Christ arose from the grave, Everlasting HOPE was emerging. 

Christ’s resurrection created a clear direction for living a victorious life over fear, doubt, and shame. The empty tomb testifies to the power of God to forever free us from our sin through Jesus’ saving name.

BECAUSE HE LIVES… We lay down our pride.

BECAUSE HE LIVES… We lift His Name high.

BECAUSE HE LIVES… We clothe the naked and feed the poor.

BECAUSE HE LIVES... We stand for the unborn.

BECAUSE HE LIVES… Our grief is comforted.

BECAUSE HE LIVES… Our anxiety is lifted.

BECAUSE HE LIVES… We love our enemies.

BECAUSE HE LIVES… We forgive quickly.

BECAUSE HE LIVES… We are ashamed no more.

BECAUSE HE LIVES… We are accepted, adopted, and adored.

This Easter, and every day after, let those who are called by His name declare that because He lives we have…

Unbridled TRUST in the midst of uncertainty.

Unhindered JOY in the depths of difficulty.

Unfathomable PEACE in the pit of despair.

Unmistakable PROVISION when there is nothing left to spare. 

Undisputed HOPE in an eternal home.

Unending GRACE and LOVE from a risen Savior who calls us His own.
